Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Press Operator/Set-Up Associate to join our team in the metal stamping industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is familiar with operating and setting up progressive dies on stamping presses ranging from 100 to 800 tons. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of blueprints, excellent math skills, and hands-on experience with precision measuring tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate progressive die stamping presses ranging from 100 tons to 800 tons.
- Ensure machines are set up and running efficiently while maintaining quality production standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical or operational issues with presses.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure proper alignment and performance.
- Accurately measure and inspect parts using mics, calipers, and other precision tools to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and other technical documents.
- Adjust settings and calibrations on presses as necessary to maintain quality and prevent machine downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with safety regulations and procedures.
- Communicate with team members and supervisors to report issues and ensure smooth production flow.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the metal stamping industry, specifically with progressive die stamping presses.
- Proficient in setting up and running presses ranging from 100 tons to 800 tons.
- Strong math skills and ability to read blueprints, along with proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented and quality-focused.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical certifications preferred).
