What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Specialist position at Surge?
Specific responsibilities include:
• Create lab certification sheets (COAs) and provide to Customer Service for appropriate customers.
• Enter lab test data into SAP daily.
• Work with production to communicate sample cutting schedules, report daily foam results and support the fulfilling of customer orders.
• Coordinate, prepare, and ship lab samples to customers, corporate, and salesman as required.
• Create and report spreadsheets of lab results and analyze lab data.
• Conduct all physical tests on foam, for example: Density, ILD, Tensile, Tear, Elongation, etc. and record on the data sheet.
• Cut various tests samples on the Bandsaw.
• Run analysis on unknown foams for sales quotations.
• Maintain all files.
• Conduct special projects as required including directing other permanent or temporary employees.
• Maintain a clean working environment.
Job Requirements:
• Knowledge of fraction/decimal conversions & metric system and basic math.
• Read tape measure to 1mm; calculate simple formulas.
• Carry foam weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Push/pull carts weighing up to 400 pounds.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Communicate orally in English and legibly and effectively in writing.
• Be able to multi-task, working on numerous tests at the same time to maximize output.
