Job Description:
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team. This position is crucial for ensuring that all in-process fabrication, weldments, and painted products meet the company's high standards for quality and precision. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, measuring, and testing products to ensure they conform to blueprints, specifications, and quality standards. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools like tape measures accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- In-Process Inspection: Conduct 100% inspection of all in-process fabrication, weldments, and painted items to ensure they meet specified quality standards.
- Blueprint Reading: Use technical drawings and blueprints to verify the accuracy of products and ensure they align with customer specifications.
- Measurements: Accurately use measuring tools, including tape measures, calipers, and micrometers, to check dimensions and tolerances.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and organized inspection records, reporting any discrepancies or quality issues to the production team or supervisor.
- Quality Control: Identify defects and take corrective actions as necessary. Ensure all products meet or exceed company and customer standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with fabrication, welding, and paint teams to provide feedback and help resolve quality issues during production.
- Other Duties: As needed, perform additional tasks such as laboring, maintenance, or assisting in fabrication to keep workflow moving and stay productive.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a quality assurance or manufacturing environment, preferably with fabrication, welding, or painting.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Measuring Tools: Proficient in the use of measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other inspection instruments.
- Attention to Detail: A strong ability to identify defects, measure products accurately, and ensure quality standards are consistently met.
- Attendance & Punctuality: Must have excellent attendance and punctuality; reliability is essential for this position.
- Versatility: Must be flexible and willing to take on additional duties, such as labor, maintenance, or fabrication tasks when necessary.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to [X] pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a shop environment with noise and machinery.
