Reporting Responsibilities
• This position reports directly to the Production Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities
• At the direction of the Production Manager, the Shift Supervisor shall provide additional oversight, direction, and coordination activities of all manufacturing personnel.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to ensure all positions within the facility are executing job responsibilities, in accordance with the GMP and SOPs for PSI.
Duties/ Responsibilities
Responsible for holding monthly review meetings, driving improvements in the following focus areas:
A. Safety
• Ensure strict adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for improving job safety to promote a healthy work environment.
B. Quality
• Ensure that the manufacturing principles coincide with the company’s vision, mission and priorities.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement driven by the PSI Total Quality Management (TQM) System.
• Coordinate setup and implement operating procedures for all production activities. Ensuring the workforce can explain and execute to the SOPs set forth by upper management.
C. Productivity/ Schedule
• Maintains performance standards for the operations and employee performance.
• Drives continuous improvement efforts to achieve an efficiency goal of 95%.
• Execute manufacturing priorities at the direction of the Facility Supervisor, he/she must allocate the resources to maximize production efficiency.
• Supports the building a solid team to achieve production goals.
• Ensures deadlines are achieved, and products are produced on time and are of good quality.
• Ensures the timely execution of the production schedule.
Required Skills/ Abilities
• Continually evaluates equipment capabilities to ensure manufacturing products are within acceptable quality & cost standards.
• Ability to provide leadership in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Possess ability to quickly learn and operate production equipment.
• Must be willing and able to support production by temporarily filling packing, stacking and operator roles when needed.
• Understanding of applicable state safety and environmental regulations.
Requirements
• Must have good leadership skills and should be able to work in a team. Ability to communicate up and down the chain inspiring people to be accountable.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Requires a “Can-Do” attitude. Hours can be long and laborious until under control.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Effectively communicate expectations, goals and deadlines both verbal and written, with follow-up to ensure tasks are on track.
• Strong Mechanical Aptitude is a plus!
Education and Experience
• The Shift Supervisor will have an AA degree in business management, engineering, or business administration, or equivalent (3-5 years) proven work experience in a production environment to qualify for the position.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to climb, kneel and crawl.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to perform physical repetitive activity as necessary, to include lifting, stacking, and packing.
Additional Duties
• The job as described above may include other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
