Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our team as Slaughter Associates. In this role, you will be responsible for the humane and efficient slaughter of livestock, ensuring the proper preparation of carcasses for further processing. You will follow industry standards to stun and kill livestock and perform additional tasks such as removing internal organs, hides, draining blood, and skinning carcasses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stun and humanely kill livestock (cattle, chickens, turkeys, or pigs) as per industry guidelines.
- Remove internal organs and hides from slaughtered animals.
- Ensure proper handling of livestock and prevent any form of animal abuse.
- Work closely with meat packers to drain blood, skin carcasses, and remove bones as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and ensure high-quality standards.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a slaughter or meat processing role preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Must adhere to safety standards and industry regulations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Schedule:
- All shifts are day shifts, typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Slaughter days may require earlier start times depending on livestock volume.
