What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Room Machinist position at Surge?
Wages: $20-22
Hours- 6am-220pm
Duties & Tasks:
- Basic understanding of planning and construction of tools, dies, fixtures, and gages to assist in the repair or construction of a die
- accurately machine parts required on standard toolroom equipment (millers, surface grinders, lathes, and other various types of equipment)
- read and understand blueprints and details
- produce complicated tools from rough sketch or detailed drawings
- identify weak areas in tools and suggest changes to foreman in order to reduce unforeseen problems
- completes assignment from layout to finish grind within necessary tolerances
- follows sketch or print to effectively create machined part accurately to tolerances required
- Understands QS-9000 policies and record keeping pertaining to work area
