Responsible for the readiness of PreOp for each patient, including equipment, supplies and medications.
Assumes responsibility for total patient care for assigned patients; assists physicians and other staff members in carrying out the established standards of patient care.
Responsible for interpretation and execution of physicians' orders.
Obtains a verbal report from the OR nurse or anesthesia person regarding the needs or characteristics particular to each patient.
Assesses, manages, and always maintains a patent airway.
Assesses patient's pain level, providing safe and adequate relief measures in accordance with the recommended physician's orders.
Provides post anesthesia instructions, including wound care, what to expect after surgery, and when to call their surgeon regarding complications or problems.
