We are staffing positions to cover our hours Monday through Friday, 6 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. No nights, weekends, or call and no holidays.

Job Description and Duties :
Pre-Operative Duties
Effectively organizes time, equipment, supplies, and personnelUses equipment effectively by anticipating patient needs and providing appropriate careConfirms that proper techniques and procedures are used according to accepted standards of practiceAssists in the inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the preoperative areaMaintains order and cleanliness of the preoperative areaPerforms thorough preoperative patient assessment required in the outpatient settingAssists in assessing the physical and emotional status of the patient prior to admissionProvides preoperative instruction and explanation of patient rights and responsibilitiesDescribes the perioperative experience to the patient / significant other, including what to expect before, during, and after the procedure, and how the significant other will participateObtains pertinent patient records prior to patients arrival for preoperative testingPerforms all preoperative testing (i.e., laboratory work, electrocardiogram, x-rays, etc.)Reports all abnormal values to the anesthesiologist / attending surgeonExplains informed consent for surgery, patients rights / responsibilities, and preoperative / postoperative instructionsObtains necessary signaturesInforms patient about routine care and procedures related to the perioperative experienceDiscusses all findings with the anesthesiologist prior to the anesthesiologists preoperative evaluation of patientProvides comfort and reassurance to the patient and supports the patients right to privacy, dignity, and confidentialityDocuments preoperative care according to policy / procedureEnsures that the patients chart is complete on the day before surgery is scheduledRecovery Duties
Effectively organizes time, equipment, supplies, and personnel for management of the recovery roomOrganizes nursing activities efficiently, considering staff abilities when delegating activitiesUses equipment effectively by anticipating patient needs and providing appropriate careConfirms that proper techniques and procedures are used according to accepted standards of practiceAssists in managing inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the postoperative areaMaintains order and cleanliness of the postoperative areaPerforms safe and individualized nursing care for the patient in the immediate postoperative / postanesthesia periodAssesses and documents the patients physical and emotional status upon arrival in the recovery roomDocuments postanesthesia care and identity of the second person in the recovery room during the patients recovery from anesthesia / sedation according to approved policies and proceduresProvides nursing care to meet patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia administeredMonitors patients and informs surgeon or anesthetist of observed complicationsPerforms thorough postoperative patient assessment prior to discharge of the patientAssists in assessing the physical and emotional status of the patient in preparation for dischargeDevelops a plan of care for the patient based on the assessment dataReviews postoperative instructions and prescriptions from the surgeon with the patient and significant other and documents in the patients medical recordInforms patient and family about appropriate care and procedure to follow upon returning homeDetermines that patient and significant other understand conditions that require immediate care / method to obtain immediate careProvides comfort and reassurance to the patient and promotes privacy and dignityWILLING TO TRAIN THE RIGHT CANDIDATE
