McKay-Dee Endoscopy Center is looking for an experienced clinical leader to lead a growing team as their Director of Nursing! GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Director of Nursing is responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations of the Surgery Center. This includes but is not limited to overseeing the scheduling of procedures, inventory control, QA/ QI, staff credentialing, preventative maintenance and safety, risk management and all related supporting services of the ambulatory surgical center and its personnel.
REPORTING: Administrator
EDUCATION and/ or Experience:
· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
· Current Registered Nurse License in practicing State
· Current American Heart Assn. BLS and ACLS certifications

Major Functions and Responsibilities:
The main function of the Director of Nursing is that of leadership and promotion of cooperative staff effort.
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the allocation and completion of assigned functions in daily operations.
Areas of accountability of the Director of Nursing are outlined as follows:
· Monitor day-to-day internal flow
· Assist in Pre-Op, PACU, and O.R./Procedure Room
· Coordination of activity within the O.R. suite/Procedure Room
· Maintain adherence to operating policy/procedure manuals
· Monitor daily staffing of employees and assignments
· Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, coworkers, and other health team members
· Responsibility for performance evaluation of all department personnel
· Coordination of the provision and control of materials, supplies, and equipment with the Materials Manager
· Risk Manager Designee
· Maintain Employee Files
· Monitor payroll/ overtime
Fiscal Management
· Monitors budget compliance in daily assessment of services activity
· Provides input into preparation of services budget
Standards of Nursing Practice
· Monitors compliance of staff members in the daily practice of nursing care
· Must demonstrate the knowledge of the principle of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients' requirements relative to his/her age specific needs and to provide the care needed
· Cultural practices will be addressed and supported as long as such practices do not harm others or interfere with planned course of medical therapy
Policies and Procedures
· Monitors staff compliance with policy and procedures
· Enforces compliance with policy and procedures
· Provides counseling and disciplinary measures to Ambulatory Care Services personnel for non- compliance with policy and procedures
Staffing and Utilization of Services Personnel
· Assigns services personnel based on levels of competency and the needs of the patient
· Assures equitable staff assignments
· Participates in selection of services personnel
· Completes and posts services personnel schedule
Staff Development
· Actively participates in weekly nursing/clinical staff meetings
· Monitors staff compliance with orientation and annual re-certification/ training
Services Environment
· Monitors service environment daily and adheres to the infection control program
· Accountable for yearly inspections
· Maintains compliance and risk management
· Manages QA Program
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply basic mathematical fundamentals and concepts such as: probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
