What are the responsibilities and job description for the PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR - NW GENERAL & BREAST SURGERY position at Surgery Partners Brand?
Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented, customer service focused, Patient Care Coordinator to join our NW General & Breast Surgery Team!
This position will support 3 days a week in clinic, and 2 days a week on other projects for the organization.
We need someone with a professional demeanor, can work well under stress/stress situations, will provide great customer service to our patients, and is able to multitask!
In this role you be responsible perform a variety of medical clerical duties. Some of those duties include registration and pre-registration functions to ensure the smooth transitioning of patients through the services they require; prepare pre-registration packets appropriately for each procedure; ensure that copies of appropriate documentation are obtained to facilitate the billing and collections processes; process co-payments and payments; registered patients and update medical records; back up all incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department; perform nightly closing procedures for clinic; call patients for pre-registration notification including copays and deductibles, record vital signs; and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Customer service background
- Prior clerical or medical office experience preferred
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), with active certification on the Idaho Registry of Certified Nurse Aides preferred
