Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Perioperative Registered Nurse to join our team at Surgical Care Affiliates. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support during the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of surgery. Your expertise and skills will enable you to assess patients' needs, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Assess patients' preoperative and postoperative status, including their cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and pain management needs. Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet patients' unique needs. Administer medications safely and correctly using the 8-rights of safe medication administration. Provide education to patients and their families on perioperative care, wound management, and expected responses to surgical procedures. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and coordination. Evaluate patients' progress toward attaining outcomes and transfer care as needed. Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects to enhance patient care and safety. Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and adhere to facility policies and procedures when providing patient care.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current licensure to practice nursing in good standing. One year of experience in perioperative nursing required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or documentation of current BLS certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications preferred.
