Essential Job Responsibilities
Experience: New graduates must be immediately eligible for Oklahoma licensure and may practice under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
Other Requirements: Current Oklahoma Physical Therapy licensure in good standing.
Knowledge
Performance Requirements:
Work Environment: Exposure to disease in the course of performing the work.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Standing six to eight hours per day, walking, stooping, pushing, pulling and bending, and lifting up to 75lbs. Requires ability to move equipment and transfer patients.

Essential Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer individually designed physical therapy programs for patients in order to maintain, improve or restore physical function, alleviate pain, and prevent physical dysfunction. Assist patient to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning by evaluating the effects of treatment and adjusting treatment to positively affect patient outcomes.
- Provides quality care to meet patient’s goals/needs by interpreting evaluation and test measures, utilizing appropriate physical agents, manual therapy, functional training, and other PT techniques in accordance with APTA practice guidelines. Determines physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians, by prescription, or as indicated under State of Oklahoma PT direct access guidelines.
- Interacts with patients and family in a positive manner to educate, encourage, and motivate patients to achieve functional centered goals to enable patient to return to normal activities of daily living.
- Provide patient with appropriate home exercise program and recommend appropriate assistive device in consultation with supervising therapist in accordance with plan of care or home equipment needed to achieve desired functional status.
- Direct and supervise Physical Therapist Assistants, PT/PTA students, PT tech and reception personnel to provide quality patient treatment.
- Documents patient care services in appropriate EMR and supporting departmental forms, accurately and in a timely manner. Submits correct physical therapy charges with supporting documentation including ICD and functional coding. Responsible for regular review and locking of PTA and student PT treatment notes.
- Responsible for regular review of locking of PTA treatment notes.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety and infection-control policies and protocols.
- Ensures appropriate patient consents and compliance with HIPAA, patient privacy and all other applicable regulations and laws.
- Adheres to all rules and regulations as outlined in the State of Oklahoma Physical Therapy Practice Act and APTA Code of Ethics.
