Overview
We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, dedicated, and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within our medical office, providing friendly and exceptional customer service to patients, and maintaining accurate records. Duties
- Greeting and checking in patient's for their appointment, checking out patient's as well as scheduling follow up appointments and testing for patients.
- Schedule appointments and manage the office schedule effectively.
- Updates patient information, provides any necessary forms needing completion, obtains signature as necessary.
- Answer incoming phone calls, taking messages and directing calls to the appropriate nurse/clinic promptly and handle inquiries regarding services, appointments, and patient information.
- Handles telephone calls in an efficient, friendly manner, taking clear and understandable messages when needed. Deal with customer needs expeditiously.
- Maintain patient records, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Schedules appointments and revises schedules for patients and doctors as necessary. Assists in scheduling patients for follow-up appointments and outside referrals.
- Daily preparation of patient chart for appointments, with all necessary paperwork attached.
- Monitors inventories supplies and places orders for supplies through clinic director as needed.
- Properly collect and apply copays for patient visits.
- Scanning/uploading document to EMR system.
- Open/Close and balance clinic cash drawer appropriately at the beginning and end of the day.
- Utilize office management software such as Meditech for record keeping and scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a hospital or medical office setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of some medical terminology is preferred, not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate friendly and effectively with patients and staff.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance communication with diverse patient populations.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and medical software, particularly Meditech, is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
