Job Objective
Drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor to transport trailers on company property or on public highway. Must possess or be able to complete requirements for Commercial Driver’s License.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drives truck to destination
- Inspects trucks for defects before and after trips and reports any discrepancies indicating truck condition to supervisor.
- Must be able to drop and spot trailers on finished goods lot.
- Must be able to back trailers in and out of receiving dock as well as service bays in said department.
- Maneuvers trailers in and around tight corners, through manufacturing areas and around high pedestrian traffic.
- Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
Commercial Driver’s License (A)
Less than high school education; or up to 6 months related experience or training.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
