What are the responsibilities and job description for the Class B CDL - Delivery Driver position at Surplus City?

We are looking for highly motivated, hard working individual to become a member of our team. We currently have an opportunity available for a Deliver Driver in our Altoona Surplus City store.

Job Summary :

The Delivery Driver will move parts, goods, and other merchandise from Altoona store location to another.

Schedule / Hours :

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday – Start time approximately 4 : 30 – 5 : 30 am

Home each day

Supervisory Responsibilities :

None.

Duties / Responsibilities :

Delivers set route weekly between 5 locations.

Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery.

Unload truck after returning from pickups and deliveries.

Pickups from vendors occasionally occur throughout the month.

Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made. Do daily pre-trip and post-trip reports.

Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical / maintenance issues to supervisor.

Assists in general warehouse duties when delivery route is completed.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities :

Ability to drive safely.

Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and / or web-based or physical maps.

Ability to plan delivery routes.

Ability to maintain basic logs and records.

Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.

Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.

Education and Experience :

Valid Class B CDL and clean driving record required.

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.
