What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator - Curriculum Programs position at Surry Community College?

This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the operational aspects of curriculum instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Entering the curriculum class schedule and maintaining accuracy of schedule through ongoing updates from division chairpersons and VP of Instruction
  • Assisting in the creation and oversight of documentation required for NCCCS program audit
  • Assisting in the preparation of documentation required for SACSCOC compliance (scanning, archiving, etc.)
  • Ensures the accuracy of all information submitted to the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) follows the Administrative Code and updates released as numbered memorandums and keeps abreast of all NCCCS compliance procedures and updates
  • Approving and maintaining classroom use through 25Live
  • Work with ERP and Moodle Administrators to process courses and accounts into various Colleague integrated systems
  • Taking notes for various meetings (e.g., Academic Council)
  • Maintaining electronic programs of study
  • Work with system office for program approval and Colleague updates
  • Maintain and updating College catalog
  • Participating actively in the planning process
  • Work collaboratively and closely with all directors and coordinators in Workforce Technologies and Community Education (WTCE), Student Services, OneStop, IT, and the Business Office to foster opportunities that support curriculum instruction.
  • Participating in staff-development activities to enhance job performance
  • Performing other job-specific duties as assigned by the VP of Instruction
  • Develops new local procedures to streamline and increase the effectiveness of day-to-day operations
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business correspondence
and reports.
  • Ability to write using proper grammar and punctuation.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management, students, faculty, staff, or the public at-large.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
  • Ability to apply and understand standard mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and other mathematical functions as appropriate to the division’s need for such skill.

REASONING ABILITY:
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Understanding of and commitment to the unique nature and role of the College and to the philosophy of the community college system.
Required Qualifications
Associate Degree in field, or related field, of division served; experience/proficiency in the use of integrated software (Microsoft Word and Excel), effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate and prioritize office duties. Experience with Ellucian Colleague ERP.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in field, or related field, of division served; experience in an educational office setting with strong technical knowledge using Ellucian Colleague ERP.
