What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (PRN) position at Surry-Yadkin Residential Services, Inc.?
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals PRN. As a PRN, you would need to work as needed for the full time staff. PRN's are expected to work at least 30 hours per month. PRN's are also expected to work any shift that is needed so open availability is a plus. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities in a group home environment and day program. Duties:
- Assist individuals with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document medication administration
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding if necessary
- Support individuals in participating in social and recreational activities
- Help individuals develop and maintain independent living skills
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of care provided
Requirements:
-High School Diploma/GED, Clean criminal record, ability to pass a drug test
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
