Job Summary:
We’re looking for a skilled Production Machinist to set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other equipment to fabricate and assemble precision components. This role involves working with various materials, including stainless steel and plastics, while maintaining tight tolerances of /- 0.002” for precise fits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and drill presses.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure they meet specifications.
- Follow production schedules and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of materials and lot numbers.
- Clean and finish products using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with production processes to ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts to enhance manufacturing processes.
- Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and well-maintained.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support production goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, plus 4-6 years of machining experience or a combination of education and hands-on training.
- Technical schooling or apprenticeship in machining is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precise measurements.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, SOPs, and technical drawings.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong math skills and ability to work with both English and Metric measurements.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent in English, with good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
