Job Overview:
- Surveillance Security Inc. is currently seeking reliable and professional Armed Security Officers that are Level 3 Certified for our Austin, Texas facility. It’s a mandatory requirement that you already have a valid armed guard card, and you must already be level 3 certified prior to applying.
- All officers are hired to start out as Part Time (Daily Operations determines the hours not the employee)
- We provide security for the client 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
- Open Availability to fulfill scheduling needs - Shifts will include Days/ Mid-Shifts/ Nights/ Holidays / Weekends / Weekdays.
Security Guard Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the Security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors, and the premises
- Watch for signs of crime or disorder; investigate disturbances; report any suspicious/unusual occurrences, accidents, and incidents to authorities and management.
- Monitor and control access to building entrances and vehicle gates
- Act lawfully always in direct defense of life or property
- Act as a consistent presence to deter criminals
- Evict violators of rules and regulations
- Escort individuals through high security areas
- Patrol premises randomly and regularly, including buildings and perimeter
- Operate metal detectors and x-ray machines
- Monitor alarm systems and video cameras
- Write, maintain, and present detailed reports, noting any damages, theft, or other irregular activity

Mandatory Requirements and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Higher
- Significant work experience as a security guard
- Integrity, professionalism, and character beyond reproach
- Ability to operate detecting system and emergency equipment
- Extensive working knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
- Texas DPS Level 3 Certification
- Mandatory Physical Fitness Test every 6 months
- Mandatory Weapons qualifications every 6 months
- Drug Screen Test (ongoing random drug screens)
- Height/Weights proportionate Requirements (Government Contracting Requirements)
- Clean & Clear Federal Criminal Background Check (No Pending Charges)
- Valid Driver License
- Reliable Transportation
- Eligible for Personal Protection Officer Certification (Level IV within a year of service)
- 1-year armed security Military or LEO experience
- ALL POST START AS PART TIME (Hours are determined by daily operations not the employee)
- Live within 1 hour travel distance of the facility
- Ability to stand for 6 hours at a time

Compensation
All Armed officers are hired on as part time with a starting pay of $30.18 per hour for their first 90 days. After successful completion of training and 90 days of employment the hourly pay rate automatically will be increased to $33.15 per hour.
