Job Summary
This role coordinates the distribution of Survitec goods from supply chain hubs to customers and service stations. It is focused on reviewing and organising delivery schedules, seeking opportunities to reduce cost whilst meeting delivery requirements, standards and safe working practices
Duties And Responsibilities
- Works with demand and supply planners to develop sound understanding of customer delivery patterns and expectations
- Plans delivery schedules to transfer goods from supply chain warehouse sites to customer or service stations
- Prepares delivery information for internal and external third-party delivery resources, using a range of software packages and systems
- Adjusts delivery schedules to meet internal and external customer need, whilst actively managing and reducing cost to serve
- Maintains effective relationships with key carriers, to drive an efficient process and ensure a good feedback process is in place to inform and drive continuous improvement
- Follows standard procedure to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and meet all external regulatory requirements for the transit of goods; identifies themes, issues and challenges with current process and raises recommendations for improvement through appropriate channels
- Compares shipping routes or methods to determine which provide the best customer outcome, optimise cost to serve and have the least environmental impact; determines the best shipping methods, routes or rates for materials to be shipped
- Prepares documents, such as work orders, bills of landing or shipping orders, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and meets required regulatory standards; examines shipment contents and compares with records, such as manifests, invoices or orders to verify accuracy
- Records shipment data accurately, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages or discrepancies; calculates costs to transfer accurately and ensures an effective process is in place for packing, sealing, labelling, affixing prepaid postage and securing appropriate transfer paperwork with the goods
- Provides effective coaching and mentoring of supply chain colleagues to raise awareness and importance of delivery standards and measures
- Deals with internal and external questions, concerns and issues, seeking to answer those questions effectively and rectify any problems, damages, shortages or nonconformance to specifications
