Domestic Violence Children's Counselor / Advocate

Survivor Empowerment Center (founded in 1972 as The Women’s Center) is seeking a Domestic Violence Counselor / Advocate to provide social services to clients at our Harrisburg location.

Key responsibilities include:

· Provides individual, family, and group counseling to adult and child survivors of domestic violence and non-offending family members and/or caretakers.

· Provides medical, legal, and other advocacy on behalf of the survivors when appropriate

· Performs outreach to various community agencies and organizations, which may include attending monthly meetings for community groups.

· Documents all contacts with clients in according to funding standards and maintains up-to-date records in accordance with the procedures of Survivor Empowerment Center, and provides this documentation as requested.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Master’s Degree ; preferably in human services, psychology, social work or any other related field with previous experience in domestic violence. Applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree may be considered with previous experience.
