As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated and experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our field surveying team.

Position Summary

The Survey Crew Chief leads a field survey crew in the performance of boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and other types of surveys. This role is responsible for the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of fieldwork and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage field survey operations and crew members.
• Conduct boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys.
• Operate GPS, robotic total stations, levels, and data collectors.
• Interpret construction plans, survey plats, and engineering documents.
• Ensure field data is collected accurately and transferred correctly to office staff.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Maintain equipment and ensure proper calibration and functionality.
• Follow company safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of field survey experience, including at least 3 years as a crew chief.
• Proficient with GPS and total station surveying equipment (Trimble preferred).
• Familiarity with data collection software and CAD-based deliverables.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in various environmental conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail, leadership, and communication skills.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
