Monitor plant equipment: boilers, air-handling units, air conditioning system, medical gases, etc. Performs general repair and updating of hospital buildings.2. Performs repairs to nurse call system, climate controls system, and other electronic equipment as required.3. Maintains and up-dates our databases for climate controls (INET) and the Maintenance work order system (EMDBS/MEDTECH).4. Pick-up and empty trash containers at various locations as per schedule, or as needed.5. Updates computer systems as needed and provides training to in-house personnel. 6. Performs preventive maintenance duties and maintains all equipment and buildings under the responsibility of Environmental Services. 7. Responds to maintenance requests and pages from all departments.8. Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of heating and air conditioning, plumbing, basic electricity, carpentry, read blueprints and a strong mechanical ability.Education:High School Graduate with some college or technical school training.Experience:Minimum of 2 years experience in plumbing, heating, and air conditioning or construction. (May be a combination).Certification/Licensure:None.Code Blue Training:Ability to activate Code Blue system by dialing 200.Physical Demands:May require frequent standing and walking. Requires occasional sitting. Occasionally lifts up to 60 lbs. May occasionally be required to carry up to 60 lbs. May require occasional pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, grasping, and repetitive movement, such as changing AC filters, preventive maintenance on equipment, tightening nuts and bolts on various pieces of equipment throughout the hospital. May frequently be required to work in extreme heat, extreme cold, and outdoor work. Requires working under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours. Some exposure to communicably diseases and hazardous materials is required. Requires correct vision to normal range and correct hearing. Working Conditions:Work is generally Monday through Friday during normal business hours, however, must be able to keep hospital plant functioning. Some weekends or holidays may be required. Situations may arise where attendance is required at any hour.This is a Full Time position working 80.000 Hours/PeriodThis position requires working Weekends, Holidays, Variable Hours, On Call4PM TO 12AM 2ND/3RD SHIFT MAY VARY
