Performs radiologic and fluoroscopic procedures with fixed and mobile x-ray apparatuses, under the supervision of a registered staff technologist.2. Assists radiologists and/or other physicians in various fluoroscope and radiographic procedures. Does not independently perform diagnostic fluoroscopic procedures for the purpose of interpretive fluoroscopy.3. Escorts patients to and from the Diagnostic Imaging Department.4. Assists patients on x-ray table and positions patients, using positioning devices as needed prior to exposure.5. Adjusts controls to proper exposure factors as predetermined by posted technique chart.6. Employs the use of protective lead aprons, gloves, and shields to protect patients, employees and the public from unnecessary exposure to radiation.7. Processes radiographs by the proper use of automatic film processors, scrutinizes the images for optimum results and determine the degree of quality control (position, technique, and file identification).8. Organizes radiographs for viewing by placing them on the Rad-X view box, with previous reports and films pulled for comparison.9. Operates portable C-arm image intensifier and x-ray units in surgery and bedside as needed.10. Prepares contract medium of various examinations, such as, IVP's, GI tract, myelogram, arthrogram, venogram and assists radiologist during these procedures.11. Cleans work area and equipment daily, consistent with department/hospital infection control policies.12. Reports malfunctioning equipment to manager.13. Assists in office clerical duties, film filing, etc.14. Obtains pertinent physical history on all patients/exams.15. Demonstrates accurate and effective verbal/written communication with all patients and department/hospital personnel.16. File and maintain accurate records.17. Records all information into the hospital MEDITECH computer system.18. Assists other techs in performing related job duties.19. Attend at least 75% of department meetings.20. Attend all mandatory meetings as established by the hospital.21. Helps maintain patient/hospital confidentiality.22. Other job related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Shall be competent in fluoroscopic and radiographic procedures, with knowledge of special procedures and surgical radiographic procedures.Education:High School graduate and enrolled in an approved radiologic training program .Experience:Second year clinical student.Certification/Licensure:NoneCode Blue Training:A minimum level of BLS required.Physical Demands:May require constant standing. Requires frequent walking. Requires frequent lifting of 10-20 lbs. Requires occasionally heavy lifting of 55 lbs., above 55 lbs. with assistance. Requires carrying of 25 lbs. frequently, and occasionally carrying 50lbs. Requires occasionally pushing and pulling 100 lbs. Requires occasional twisting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and overhead work. Requires occasional use of step stool and stairs. Requires frequent grasping. Ability to use typewriter, telephone, copier, and fax machine is required. Exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials is required. Eye sight and hearing shall be required to be corrected to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours. Eye-hand coordination and finger and manual dexterity are required. Required to work with sharps, magnetic fields, radiation, and body fluids.Working Conditions:Will be scheduled to work an eight hour shift Monday through Friday, (exception: following weekend on call duty). May on occasion work an other than assigned shift. Normal shifts shall be 0730 hours through 1600 hours and 0900 hours through 1730 hours. Additional shifts include a 1230 hours through 2100 hours,1430 hours through 2300 hours, and 2100 hours through 0700 hours. A work roster will be posted in the department and each technologist shall receive a copy. Conforms to hospital policies and dress code.This is a position working 10.00 Hours/PeriodEVENINGS AND WEEKENDS
