Job Summary:
The Dietary Manager is responsible for overseeing the food service operations in the Nursing home and Assisted living facility (ALF). This role ensures that residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals that meet dietary needs, preferences, and regulatory guidelines. The Dietary Manager supervises kitchen staff, maintains inventory, ensures sanitation compliance, and collaborates with healthcare professionals to support residents’ nutritional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and implement nutritious and appealing meal programs that comply with dietary regulations and resident needs.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including sanitation and food safety standards.
- Oversee food and snacks preparation, portion control, and meal presentation to maintain quality standards.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs while minimizing waste.
- Supervise, train, and schedule dietary staff, ensuring efficiency and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including dietitians and nursing staff, to accommodate residents’ dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Monitor residents’ nutritional intake and adjust meal plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records, including meal plans, dietary assessments, and compliance reports.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and dining areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Address residents and family concerns regarding dietary services in a timely and professional manner.
- Works closely with Human Resources and other departments.
