Assistant District Attorney Job Description
The Susquehanna County Assistant District Attorney position is a multifaceted job which will allow the job holder to become familiar with all aspects of the Office of District Attorney. This is a part-time position, with a salary range from $37,500 to $50,000.00, with medical benefits available.
The Assistant District Attorney (ADA) will be given the opportunity to work directly with all members of the office staff, as well as law enforcement. This position will include court time in all matters, including preliminary hearings, pre- and post-trial hearings and trial work, as well as juvenile proceedings, de novo appeals and indirect criminal contempt hearings. This position will also require the ADA to draft motions and write briefs. The ADA will also be expected to be available to this office if scheduling conflicts arise and to be able and willing to cover all office duties and responsibilities in the absence of the District Attorney. Strong legal research and communication skills are a must.
The requirements for this job include a 4 year undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university, and a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. All applicants must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and be a current member in good standing of the Pennsylvania Bar. A valid driver’s license is also required.
