Dental Assistant

The dental assistant is an integral part of clinical dentistry and supports all that the dentist and hygienists do on a day-to-day basis.

Dental Assistant Position Duties:

• Assist the dentist chair-side during dental treatment such as: restorative dentistry (fillings), pediatric dentistry, endodontics (root canal therapy), prosthodontics (dentures and partials), oral surgery (extractions), and dental implant restoration
• Take dental radiographs/X-rays as prescribed
• Prepare and Breakdown treatment rooms and sterilization areas
• Prepare and Sterilize dental instruments and equipment
• Stock and organize instruments and supplies
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
• Create and update patient dental records and patient medical histories
• Prepare/Track lab cases pre-visit and post-visit
• Perform periodic maintenance of dental equipment
• Various office administrative duties

Position Requirements:

• Ability to multi-task and work well with other dental providers and office staff
• Basic Computer Skills as well as the ability to learn electronic dental records
• Communicates well with patients and other dental staff
• Ability to follow OSHA/HIPAA guidelines
• X-ray and CPR Certification
• Prior experience in a dental office preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 38 per week
