What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equity Research Analyst - Summer Internship 2024 position at Susquehanna International Group, LLP?
Overview
As an equity research intern, you will be responsible for finding opportunities that other market participants may not be capitalizing on, either by discovering new information or considering existing knowledge from a different perspective. You will be embedded in a buy-side strategy-focused trading desk monitoring your own basket of stocks ranging across various sectors such as macro, index, ETF, equity and more. You will work collaboratively with traders who rely heavily on the analysis you provide to make trading decisions.
What’s in it for you:
- Education: Attend market-leading classes by our in-house education team to learn about trading, options, finance and the decision-making strategies that our traders employ. You will attend seminars by some of our most experienced researchers from various desks in which you will also be assigned a mentor from to guide you along the way.
- Real Impact: You will work collaboratively with research analysts, the technology team and traders on your desk to develop trade ideas on your allocated basket of stocks and provide real-time opinions on breaking news throughout the trading day.
- Culture: Our non-hierarchical culture allows employees of every level to thrive. We are not your typical trading firm – the environment is casual, collaborative and we focus on continuous development, no matter how long you’ve been in SIG.
- Perks: Based in the heart of Ireland’s Financial Services Centre, and a 10-minute walk from Dublin’s city centre, our employees avail of free onsite catering, a games room, and a large in house gym, to name but a few of our favourite perks. You will have the opportunity to attend multiple social events hosted by SIG. We’ll also provide summer interns, who are not from Dublin, with accommodation for the duration of the internship.
What we’re looking for
- Market Enthusiast: Keeping up to date on current events and breaking news that affect the markets is something you naturally enjoy. From company specific news to macro stories, you are up to date on recent headlines.
- Communicator: You enjoy building relationships with those you work closely with. You enjoy sharing ideas, expressing your thoughts and listening to the views of others.
- Ambitious: You constantly set yourself goals and give your all to achieve them. Be it in Arts, Sports, Academics or another passion you have, you’re not afraid to put in the effort to reach your full potential.
- Numerical & Logical: When it comes to decision making, you use clear and sound reasoning. You’re rational and like to use numbers and data to come up with sensible solutions.
- Curious: You’re eager to find out more about what it’s like to work in the finance sector, and specifically in Equity Research. Have a passion and identifiable interest in the financial markets and current affairs.
- Class of 2024 or 2025: Successful interns are invited back as graduates to join the Equity Research Analyst Programme (our full-time graduate programme). Depending on when you graduate, you will be invited to join our graduate programme in either January or September 2025.
