Overview
Susquehanna Pacific Pty Limited (a member of the Susquehanna International Group of companies) is currently seeking an In-House Legal Counsel. The role is to advise on the full range of legal matters which affect its business across the Asia Pacific.
This role would be suitable for a lawyer in private practice, ideally with some financial markets experience, who is looking to make the move in-house. Alternatively, we would consider an in-house lawyer who is currently working in a financial markets role.
In this role, you will:
- Work closely with other members of the Susquehanna legal team and the Susquehanna business.
- Manage a diverse range of legal matters which affect the business across the Asia Pacific region, including reviewing and negotiating technology, licensing, trading, brokerage, prime brokerage, execution, clearing, and other commercial arrangements.
- Undertake both transactional work and advice work.
What we’re looking for
- Holder of a current practising certificate in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, or UK.
- 4 to 8 years’ post admission experience.
- Broad knowledge of corporations law and securities law.
- Excellent negotiation skills, and strong organization, effective planning, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to exhibit independent judgment when evaluating projects or assignment needs.
- Ability to deal confidently with senior executives and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work across different legal jurisdictions and time zones.
- Experience in the following areas (private practice or in house) would be highly regarded:
- sell side global markets or sell side brokerage work; and
- privacy, technology, or data law.
