Overview
Susquehanna has a job opportunity available on our Technical Facilities team. This team is directly responsible for the design, build-out, maintenance and support of the firm’s critical infrastructure, including trading facilities, data centers and co-location facilities located across the globe. Susquehanna’s data centers span approximately 8,000 – 15,000 square feet across each location.
Our Engineers liaise with members of our Information Technology teams, outside Engineering firms and various equipment vendors in the selection and evaluation of mission critical infrastructure that will be utilized across the firm, and to assess power, cooling, space and structural requirements to design solutions that meet the needs of our business. Their function is broad and multi-disciplinary, offering them the opportunity to leverage their technical expertise and creativity to design solutions that will not only meet the needs of the business today but that will be scalable to its evolving needs.
In this role, you will:
- Operate and maintain all critical and non-critical power distribution equipment at HQ office building from the utility service entrance to the branch circuit distribution
- Operate and maintain all critical HVAC equipment in areas including Data Centers, IDF Rooms, Trading Floors, and Electric/Mechanical Rooms
- Operate and maintain critical area Fire Systems
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in all critical areas and critical equipment areas
- Review and negotiate service contracts and select appropriate contractors
- Review repair proposals and select appropriate contractors
- Plan and maintain Technical Facilities budget
- Oversee all contractors who are contracted to work in critical areas or on critical equipment to ensure SIG policies and standards are followed
- Responsible for or assist with all electrical and mechanical construction projects in critical space
- Provide hands on maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintain infrastructure records, operations manuals, and service records, remote site engineering support
- On call 24x7x365
What we’re looking for
- HVAC training or experience; OSHA training; Electrical Safety Training; Electrical/Mechanical training or experience
- 5 years minimum experience working in mission critical area or data centers
- Ability to use power and hand operated tools
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy, as well as organization and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills that facilitate teamwork and interaction with colleagues and internal clients
- Some proficiency in AutoCAD
- Ability to interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to bend, twist, and lift, move, or push objects up to 50lbs required
