Overview
SIG has a job opening for a Technology Controller in our Bala Cynwyd headquarters, just outside of Center City Philadelphia. In this role, you will have responsibility for financial analysis, operations and reporting for our technology organization which consists of roughly 24 Cost Centers and 650 employees. You will work collaboratively with the CIO and Senior Technology Managers as well as the Financial Operations and Accounting teams to continue to build organizational self-awareness, help managers take personal accountability and make better decisions. You will also develop a framework to reduce costs that is focused on creating greater efficiencies, economies of scale and / or better quality resources for a project team, department or business unit. Through these efforts, you will design, manage and monitor annual operating budgets as well as ensure that month-end processes for expenses, accruals and allocations are managed effectively. You will also lead a small AP team responsible for Market Data and Telecommunications expense management, ensuring that accounts payable, billing reconciliations and chargebacks are managed efficiently and in the best interests of the firm. As you oversee this team and global spend across our enterprise technology organization, you will manage both internal and external technology finance reporting requests.

In this role, you will :
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures and costing models for Technology in collaboration with the Accounting Team
- Provide monthly accrual, costs and expense ratio information to Accounting; provide IT allocation budgets and updates when required
- Direct and manage monthly, quarterly and annual budget forecasting process for the IT organization; drive enhancements to these processes that will also include optimizing the tracking templates utilized for budgeting, staffing, capital, consulting and maintenance as well as related roll-ups for management reporting
- Maintain allocation methodology and supply allocation information to business lines when requested
- Document and assist in development of IT project budgets; ensure proper accounting for these items (. those to be capitalized vs. expensed)
- Manage month-end accrual process to track vendor accounts and monthly spend across 200 legal entities, including monitoring and creating journal entries for all maintenance renewal activity
- Provide early feedback to IT staff on costing issues and variances (favorable and unfavorable)
- Integrate fixed asset purchases into the overall financial view and participate in vendor based financial product reviews and costing analysis.
