Job Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be an essential part of our nursing team, ensuring efficient communication, accurate documentation, and smooth daily operations within the unit. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare setting and enjoys working closely with both staff and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Maintain medical records, charts, and essential paperwork to keep the nursing unit organized.
- Communication Hub: Answer phones, take messages, and coordinate with families, physicians, and staff.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Assist in scheduling resident appointments, procedures, and transportation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure documentation meets facility policies, HIPAA, and regulatory guidelines.
- Front Desk Presence: Maintain a professional, welcoming atmosphere at the nursing station.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Unit Clerk, Medical Secretary, or Administrative Assistant in a healthcare setting (preferred).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage unit operations efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work with staff, residents, and families.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems (preferred).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with attention to detail.
