We’re seeking to expand our capacity by adding an additional experienced Mechanical Design Engineer II/III to our Product Development team located in Williston, Vermont. The Williston office is a R&D-focused environment supporting our international manufacturing sites with new product developments.
Responsibilities
Generate design concepts, diagrams, layouts, detail, and assembly drawings
Calculate appropriate dimensions and tolerances
Review and modify designs for efficient manufacturability
CAD & Bill of Materials creation and maintenance with SolidWorks & SAP
Qualify designs through FEA/CFD analysis and empirical testing
Support prototype builds and functional tests
Work within the requirements of internal product development processes including participation in design/project reviews
Work and coordinate with SUSS colleagues around the world
Requirements
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant technical degree)
Three (plus) years of design engineering of precision machinery
Fundamental knowledge of electro-mechanical systems (pneumatics a plus)
Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and finishes
Thorough knowledge of geometric tolerancing (GD&T) and ANSI Y.14 standards (ISO a plus)
Proficient in the use of 3D CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks
Experience with analysis tools a plus, preferably SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) and SolidWorks Flow Simulation (CFD)
Experience with ERP and PLM systems for document, material, BOM and revisions - preferably SAP
Knowledge of SemiSpec standards a plus
Domestic and international travel up to 10%
