What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Clean up Laborer position at Sussex Construction, Inc.?
Are you looking for flexible work and great pay? Sussex Construction is looking for a Construction Cleaner. Our ideal employee is productive, pays great attention to detail, is reliable, trustworthy, self-motivated and a hard worker! We need a team member who can work independently with little direction. We are constantly moving! You will need to have a clean background, be able to work hard, pull a trailer and lift to 75 pounds. This is a labor position; we expect you to come to work prepared!
Construction Site Cleanup
The Construction Cleanup Laborer will come in behind different subcontractors to clean up their remaining mess and prepare the area for the next subcontractor. For example, once our flooring contractors complete their work, the Construction Cleanup Laborer will get the property ready for the painters, cabinetry workers or whichever subcontractor is coming in next. In winter this may include, snow removal to maintain a clear path for contractors to use. Cleaning up on site includes properly disposing of any debris and trash. Job site logs will be reviewed by supervisor to confirm that the clean-up job met expectations.
Post-Construction Cleaning
Part of site clean-up may include cleaning the actual home, office or structure the contractors built so that it is ready for the new occupants to move into and for potential purchasers to view. This end of construction clean-up would include but is not limited to a wipe down of ceiling fixtures, fans, lights, mechanical registers, walls, cabinets, windows, sills, mirrors, baseboards, counters, appliances and other fixtures. They also broom sweep and mop floors and outdoor sidewalks and patio spaces. The clean-up worker must take care to only use products suited for the type of material being cleaned. For example, workers cannot use harsh chemicals or cleaners when dealing with delicate materials such as granite, marble or quartz.
Education, Experience:
Construction industry experience is preferred but not essential.
Ability to connect to, safely back-up and dump trailers, as well as move a variety of types/sizes of trailers is a requirement.
A valid drivers license, and clean driving record is required.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, speak and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
Physical Requirements Necessary:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to heat, wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts; work in under-construction locations, and around fumes or airborne particles. The employee could be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals with adequate protective gear provided; and will be required to work in outdoor weather conditions at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
