The Sussex County Miners, a professional baseball team, are seeking a qualified and dedicated Part-Time Athletic Trainer to assist in the health, safety, and performance of our players. This role involves working closely with players, coaches, and the medical staff to provide injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services.

This role involves working closely with players, coaches, and the medical staff to provide injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for players.
- Provide on-site coverage during home games & away games, practices, and team activities, as assigned.
- Apply taping, bracing, and other preventative techniques to reduce injury risk.
- Monitor and manage player health, including hydration, warm-up, and recovery protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records of player injuries, treatments, and progress.
- Communicate effectively with coaches, players, and team medical staff regarding player status and care plans.
- Ensure compliance with league health and safety regulations and standards.
- Assist with maintaining and organizing athletic training equipment and supplies.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing first aid or other necessary care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or a related field (required).
- Current BOC certification as an Athletic Trainer (required).
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in New Jersey (required).
- CPR and First Aid certification (required).
- At least 1 year of experience as an athletic trainer, preferably in baseball or a similar sport (preferred).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by the team’s schedule.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, and move actively throughout practices and games.
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
Hours:
Part-time, based on the team’s home & away games, practice, and event schedule.
Compensation:
Hourly rate or stipend, commensurate with experience.
