What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Crew Member position at Sussex County Miners?
The Sussex County Miners, a professional baseball team in the Frontier League, are looking for dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our Grounds Crew at Skylands Stadium. With our new state-of-the-art turf field, we are seeking team members to help ensure the playing surface and stadium grounds remain in top condition throughout the season.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily maintenance and upkeep of the turf playing surface to ensure optimal playing conditions.
- Maintain bullpens, batting cages, and dugouts, keeping them clean and organized.
- Set up and break down field equipment for games, team practices, and special events.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing warning tracks, pitcher’s mound, and base paths.
- Monitor and address any safety concerns related to the playing surface or stadium grounds.
- Ensure stadium common areas, including walkways and concourses, are kept clean and well-maintained.
- Assist with tarp pulls and field coverage in the event of inclement weather.
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or turf management is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong attention to detail, safety, and field aesthetics.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
