What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optician - Glasses Sales - Training Provided position at Sussex Eye Center?
The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality and be someone who can help fit and dispense eyewear, help navigate insurance benefits and have experience in sales. Experience as an Optician or at least in the Optometry field is preferred. Training can be provided to the right candidate. The position will require you to travel between our 4 locations within Sussex County, although you may spend most of your time in one office. We also require working one late night per week (Tuesday – until 7:15pm). Please note this position will also involve answering calls and returning voicemails that are Optical specific. If you are a multi-tasker who loves sales and styling people, this is the job for you!
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting eyeglasses, frames, and lenses based on prescriptions and individual needs
- Take accurate measurements to ensure proper fit of eyewear
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and enhancements
- Adjust and repair eyewear as needed
- Maintain inventory of frames and lenses, ensuring a diverse selection is available
- Process orders and manage insurance claims for eyewear purchases
Requirements:
- Prior experience as an Optician or at least experience in another position within an Optometry setting
- Proficiency in retail math for accurate pricing and transactions
- Strong sales skills with a background in retail sales
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Familiarity with medical records and billing procedures
- Understanding of physiology, vital signs, and eye health
- Experience with retail management systems is a plus
-Pay is negotiable depending on level of experience
