SR Inc Member-Clients have made the NZCB a leading transaction platform for aggregated Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPAs) in North America and Europe. Members participate in the NZCB to develop and drive a renewable energy strategy that evaluates the most financially and environmentally compelling on-site and off-site solutions available through auditable competitive procurement processes.
The NZCB Analyst is an earliest career position for an exceptionally talented individual who has demonstrated outstanding analytic strength, quantitative analysis, and an interest in renewable energy. It will provide a highly motivated earliest career professional with an opportunity for leadership by helping SR Inc Member-Clients drive to net zero emissions and 100% renewable energy through purchaser-caused renewable energy procurement. The prevailing candidate will report to SR Inc’s Manager of Research & Consulting and will work closely with the rest of the NZCB function to conduct timely, focused, and detailed research on the North American and European renewable energy markets, help project manage aggregated procurements, and assist in tracking the performance of active renewable energy projects.
This role requires a team- and objective-oriented professional who will ultimately be able to deliver results with practicality, relevance, timeliness, and a strategic sense of what is most needed. The position also requires managing multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines and may eventually require the management of other analysts and fellows as SR Inc continues to grow. The Analyst will have a written, scored, and in-person semi-annual performance consultation with the CEO, Managing Director, and Manager of Research & Consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct secondary and primary research on various renewable energy markets (primarily in the U.S. and Europe), existing and emerging regulations and incentives, and innovative procurement options
- Support NZCB team members with financial modeling and scoring of renewable energy projects and developers
- Develop Excel-based tools, client-facing reports, and open issues memos for aggregated procurements
- Attend and help coordinate internal and external NZCB planning and negotiation meetings
- Assist in creating presentation materials, attend, and present at SR Inc’s quarterly symposia, annual summits, and regular webinars
- Assist in creating blog posts, case studies, and thought leadership to be shared with clients or placed on SR Inc’s website
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree
- 1-2 years of professional workplace experience
- 1-2 years of direct experience with renewable energy, grid operations, and/or sustainability (or relevant degree)
- Introductory knowledge of American and European energy markets, corporate renewable energy procurement, Energy Attribute Certificates, and best practices in sustainable energy management will be helpful
- Experience with other energy markets or prior renewable energy development experience a plus
- Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills, including an ability to distill data into concise deliverables and presentations (modeling/statistical experience a plus)
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and timeliness
- Demonstrated very strong written communication skills including the ability to edit and polish documents for delivery to top corporate clients
- Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to manage and meet multiple, simultaneous deadlines for deliverables with minimal assistance
- Residence in Greater Boston during employment and the ability to occasionally travel
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Compensation:
The Analyst will be provided with a base salary between $50,000 - $70,000, health & dental insurance, retirement account with an employer match, commuting reimbursements, and three weeks of paid vacation, in addition to all national holidays and two 1-week company closing periods during the winter holiday season and the week of the Fourth of July.
