Salary Range: $70,000-85,000 base, plus commission with an on-target earning (OTE) range of $110,000-125,000 as well as eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance

SR Inc is experiencing rapid growth and is seeking an experienced business development leader to accelerate the growth of Membership in SR Inc’s Strategic Advisory & Support Services which includes SR Inc’s related Net Zero Consortium for Buyers (NZCB). SR Inc Member-clients have made the NZCB the leading buyers’ community for corporate aggregated procurement of renewable energy in both North America and Europe.

The Business Development Associate is an early career-level position that will conduct market research to identify and qualify prospects, make daily phone calls, create unique email solicitations, arrange and record sales meetings, and assist in the closing process. This opportunity is all about benefit-based selling and, specifically, arranging at least one value-adding sales presentation to a carefully selected and qualified executive buyer – every week, beginning in month three. We’re looking for a leader who’s excited by the prospect of building from zero to one. Someone who is adaptive and has a resilient character with a history of leaving systems, processes, and content better than they found them.

This is a hybrid role and will require 3 days in our well-appointed office in downtown Boston.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of successful corporate business development and/or sales experience
- Knowledge of business development techniques including cold-calling, networking, and lead-generation
- Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) software and sales engagement tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, Outreach, Zoominfo, Sales Navigator, etc.)
- Developed interest in Corporate Sustainability, Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) and/or Renewable Energy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to exemplify integrity, professionalism and collaboration as part of a fast-paced team in alignment with SR Inc’s Mission & Values
- Bachelor’s degree required, postgraduate degree focused on sustainability preferred
- Referenced success in professional services sales and/or membership-based service models (e.g. Corporate Executive Board or the Advisory Board Company) strongly preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research to identify and qualify Sustainability decision-makers in specific market segments
- Execute outbound campaigns, including unique email solicitations, phone calls, and social selling
- Schedule, prepare for, and assist in running weekly sales meetings
- Develop customized sales presentations highlighting Membership benefits
- Track sales progress and support the closing process
- Manage weekly direct marketing campaigns aligned with company events and research
- Stay informed on market trends, competition, and industry developments
- Prospect and engage executives to drive attendance at our events
- Attend networking events and conferences to build relationships and generate leads
- Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and provide regular reports on sales activities
- Analyze sales data and collaborate on strategies to meet and exceed sales targets
