Job Summary:
Sustainable Beef is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Health Professional to join our team. This individual will provide hands-on medical support, ensuring the health and safety of our employees by delivering high-quality occupational health services. The ideal candidate will be a licensed EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or RN, capable of managing daily clinic operations, responding to workplace injuries, and supporting employee wellness initiatives. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality while fostering a safe and healthy work environment.
This position reports directly to the Occupational Health Manager and plays a critical role in promoting a culture of health, safety, and injury prevention at our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct medical care for work-related injuries and illnesses, including assessment, treatment, and follow-up care.
- Conduct pre-employment and periodic health screenings, including drug testing, respirator fit testing, and physicals as needed.
- Administer first aid and emergency care for workplace incidents, coordinating with external healthcare providers when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies.
- Assist in case management for workers’ compensation claims, including return-to-work programs and modified duty coordination.
- Support occupational health programs, including ergonomic assessments, health surveillance, and wellness initiatives.
- Educate employees on workplace health, safety, and injury prevention topics.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including OSHA and state health and safety laws.
- Assist in training employees on health and safety procedures, including CPR/first aid and bloodborne pathogens.
- Conduct facility rounds to assess and identify potential health and safety risks.
- Assist with pandemic preparedness and infectious disease control measures when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a current and unrestricted license as an EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or RN in the state of Nebraska.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in occupational health, emergency medicine, or a related healthcare field preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace health and safety practices.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
