The Program Manager of Existing Buildings is part of a growing team that provides green building services for existing buildings in upstate New York, Massachusetts and the Northeast. Essential Duties
Technical:
- Review and QC the work of others to meet program requirements.
- Be the in-house expert on programs under your management. Provide support and mentorship to team members working on those programs.
- Understand the design process to assist designers, contractors, and developers in developing building plans.
- Plan, evaluate, and optimize operations to be efficient and cost-effective.
- Ensure services comply with regulatory and quality standards and company standards and procedures are followed.
- Develop systems and standard operating procedures to efficiently execute projects and include technical support.
- Work with sales team to create achievable budgets of hours and cost to deliver the programs.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings of operations and finance and contribute to strategic planning for program and department.
- Work with senior management to evaluate efficiencies in offering services and opportunities to expand existing services to new markets.
- Maintain the integrity of proposal estimating by anticipating changes in national program requirements and diagnosing internal inconsistencies between job execution and estimating.
- Attend industry conferences and periodically volunteer to present.
- Oversee internal program team responsible for execution of projects with focus on project success, team growth, budget, and timeliness.
- Participate in recruiting, onboarding, training, and supporting new team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with direct reports.
- Manage timesheet reviews and submissions and appropriate allocation of time and hitting team and project performance metrics.
- Manage individuals and assist their continued growth and development to achieve success on projects and in their roles.
- Follow industry requirements and train these standards to the team for effective execution of project deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree or five (5) years of experience in the building trades.
- Must hold at least one of the following certifications: Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Multifamily Building Analyst (MFBA), Licensed Architect (RA), or Professional Engineer (PE).
- Experience managing programs or teams in energy efficiency, sustainability, or building performance industries.
- ASHRAE Level II Energy Audits: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with on-site audits and inspections, preferably with multifamily housing.
- Energy Modeling: Proficiency in whole building energy modeling software.
- Commissioning & Retro-Commissioning: Understanding of processes for optimizing building performance.
- Building Systems & Decarbonization: Expertise in all-electric mechanical systems and energy-efficient building design.
- Regulatory Compliance & Standards: Familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE, LEED, ENERGY STAR, and local/state energy codes.
- Process Development & Quality Control: Ability to establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)and ensure quality assurance (QA/QC) of work.
