We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join GreenSpark Solar Finance Team! The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the company’s accounting system and processes, accurately maintaining the company’s General Ledger, and analyzing/interpreting complex financial records and reports. The Staff Accountant will also serve as support and back up to the team. This position must perform all duties listed below under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, functioning as an active Finance team member to achieve company and department goals.
The Staff Accountant day to day activities will include:
Prepare and record month-end and year-end closing journal entries.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations; research and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare sub-ledger to General Ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Backup Accounts Receivable – Perform customer invoicing; monitor accounts receivable and initiate collection proceedings on overdue accounts. Interface with external collections agencies as required. Assist with customer invoicing as required.
Backup Accounts Payable - Provide support to the team – entering vendor invoices and credit card transactions as required.
Provide support to the team with making vendor payments as required.
Serve as back-up for recording bi-weekly payroll journal entry
Assist with annual financial statement audit fieldwork and insurance audits
Must have the ability to work independently, meet schedules and bring exceptions and problems to the attention of management.
Demonstrate concepts of team building, collaborating with others, and a positive attitude. Contribute to the overall effectiveness of GreenSpark Solar and the Finance Department.
These are our education & qualification requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Corporate accounting experience, general ledger, reconciliations, month and year-end close
Construction accounting experience preferred
Public accounting experience is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong Excel skills preferred. Working knowledge of ERP systems
Able to read, analyze and interpret general financial concepts. Must be able to write reports and business correspondence. Communicates effectively with managers, other staff, and external contacts.
Able to work with accounting and financial concepts; able to apply those to practical situations.
Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Annual Base Salary: 52,000-65,000
