Sustainable Energy Systems is a renewable energy design and installation business based out of Frederick, Maryland, and operating in the mid-Atlantic region since 2008. Our goal is to help create a sustainable energy future by installing the most efficient, cost-effective systems with the smallest ecological footprint possible.

Job requirements include:

  • Roofing work
  • Electrical work
  • Carpentry work
  • Working on pitched roofs with climbing gear.
  • Carrying up to 50 lbs,
  • Use of hand tools and power tools
  • Driving Trucks and trailers up to 16'
  • Working with a team
  • Customer service

A person who excels at this job enjoys physically challenging work, life outdoors, and getting work done in a positive fashion while promoting and expanding the use of renewable energy.

Solar experience is not required but is valued. Applicants should have some form of prior construction experience. Applicants should already be comfortable using hand tools, impact drills, sawzalls, and hammer drills.

Solar Installers work 10 hours on site per day on average and work 4 days a week. Job sites are located around MD, DC, VA, WV, PA, and DE. Travel to the job site is provided from our Ijamsville, MD office. Occasional overnights are required.

This job is salary. Daily overtime is offered at 150% for hours worked over 10 hours per day (based on company vehicle GPS data).

Sick leave is included with this job at a rate of 1 hour earned per week of employment for a total of 6.5 Days per year, which begins accruing immediately. Vacation leave begins to accrue after 1 year of employment. PTO increases with Tenure

Health insurance is offered after 60 days of employment, with the employer paying a percentage.

Starting wage determined based on previous work experience.
