Informatics Analyst
Position Overview :
The Informatics Analyst plays a vital role in aligning technology with clinical best practices to improve patient-centered care, streamline interdisciplinary communication, and ensure regulatory compliance. Working closely with clinical and non-clinical leaders, this position supports clinical practices and drives quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include maintaining efficient technology-based clinical systems, facilitating data-driven solutions, and providing educational support for clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities :
Process Improvement & Technical Efficiencies :
Evaluate current clinical workflows, identifying opportunities for optimization.
Collaborate on auditing tools and reports to support data-driven decision-making.
Research emerging EHR technologies and recommend enhancements for improved workflows.
Support the development of patient-centered documentation standards and best practices.
Clinical Systems Management :
Maintain end-user workflow documentation for EHR processes.
Ensure compliance with state and federal documentation regulations.
Collaborate with departments to create and update clinical standards, forms, policies, and procedures.
Integrate clinical practice changes into EHR systems, including form design and workflow updates.
Training & Support :
Provide training for new staff and ongoing support for clinical practice changes.
Act as a liaison between clinical teams and EHR vendors, offering feedback for system improvements.
Develop support tools such as tip sheets to assist with EHR-related questions.
Participate in an on-call rotation to address EHR support needs outside of standard business hours.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field such as Nursing.
Minimum of three years’ experience in clinical practice and / or health informatics.
Strong understanding of clinical workflows and integrated clinical information systems.
Proficiency with health information systems, databases, and electronic health records (EHR).
Demonstrated success in quality improvement or research projects.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of reliability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective professional relationships.
Preferred Qualifications :
Project management experience.
EHR system certification or relevant application training.
Experience in quality improvement and healthcare compliance initiatives.
