Position Overview:
We seek a passionate and detail-oriented Grant Researcher Volunteer/Intern to assist our development team in identifying and researching grant opportunities. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in nonprofit fundraising and development while contributing to a cause that promotes sustainability, equity, and justice. As a key contributor, you will support our mission by helping us secure the funding needed to continue our impactful work.
Responsibilities:
- Research potential grant opportunities that align with Sustaining Way’s mission and programs
- Identify eligibility criteria, funding priorities, deadlines, and submission requirements for various grants
- Maintain a database of grant prospects and key deadlines
- Assist in compiling data and information needed for grant proposals
- Collaborate with the development team to strategize on potential funding opportunities
- Track grant cycles, outcomes, and follow-up actions
Qualifications:
- Strong research, organizational, and communication skills
- Interest in sustainability, environmental justice, or nonprofit work
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Basic knowledge of grant writing or nonprofit fundraising (preferred but not required)
- Proficiency in Google Workspace for data tracking and reporting
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
