We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations at the cash register, providing excellent customer service, and leading the cashier team. You will also be responsible for the front end paperwork, managing and driving the credit applications, friends of the family, and garden text club process.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily cash register operations, ensuring accuracy in transactions and adherence to company policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their inquiries or concerns.
- Train and mentor new cashiers on effective cash handling procedures, phone etiquette, and customer interaction.
- Collaborate with sales teams to promote upselling techniques and enhance overall sales performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
- Utilize retail math skills to manage cash flow, balance registers at the end of shifts, and prepare deposits.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure seamless store operations.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and provide information about promotions or store policies.
Experience
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a retail environment is preferred.
- Proficiency with cash registers and basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with sales teams and other departments.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customer bases.
- Familiarity with store operations is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to upsell products while maintaining a positive shopping experience for customers.
