A Merchandise Coordinator Assistant position is currently open at Sutherlands. The Merchandise Coordinator Assistant will primarily work from and have office space at our Hot Springs, AR location.

Objectives:
To be an integral part of our team by working with the owners, district managers, merchandise coordinator, buying team, store managers and vendors to ensure the successful day-to-day operation of the stores. The Merchandise Coordinator Assistant is responsible for assisting the merchandise coordinator in managing the merchandise at multiple locations to ensure success in driving sales, optimizing inventory and generating profit.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the coordination of merchandise for multiple locations
- Assist with the monitoring of merchandise resets with vendors and stores
- Review current home improvement and retail trends to ensure stores have new and innovative products
- Assist with setup and maintenance of merchandise SKU listings
- Maintain merchandise pricing costs and retail to ensure each store’s competitiveness
- Build and maintain ad files for each store
- Communicate plans as needed with owners, district managers, merchandise coordinator, buying team, store managers and vendors
Qualifications:
- Requires knowledge obtained through a BA/BS degree
- Requires strong analytical skills as well as strong proficiency working with numbers and product data
- Requires tremendous attention to detail and proven accuracy
- Requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal coupled with strong organizational skills
- Requires proficient PC skills with a focus on Microsoft Excel
- Must be willing to travel to stores and trade shows as needed
- Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a motivated self-starter and be able to function in a team environment
