We are currently looking for tutorial support candidates with:
- A current Texas teacher certificate
- 3 years of relevant teaching experience in Reading or Math (Bilingual/ESL certification required)
- Availability to tutor up to five (5) days per week for four (4) to six (6) hours per day
- 2 to 3 references who can speak to your effectiveness as a classroom instructor, including a Principal or Assistant Principal.
- Experience with research-based instructional strategies and best practices that have been proven to increase student achievement
- Proven student results on district and state exams
- Flexibility and resourcefulness
- Experience with small group interventions
- Ability to collect, analyze, and utilize data to drive interventions
- Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff quickly
- Ability to teach in a variety of academic settings including one-on-one tutorials, group tutorials, as well as facilitate blended and/online learning tutorials.
- Willing to travel in Houston and surrounding areas
Tutors will be expected to:
- Create and implement individualized student support plans
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Manage student behavior in tutorial groups
