Full Time Midtown East Condominium Doorman Position

Union: 32BJ SEIU. Salary ramps annually to full union wage in approximately two years.

Shift:

• Monday and Tuesday: Overnight Shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Friday through Sunday: Evening Shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and professional Building Doorman to join our team in a prestigious New York City residential building. As a member of our team, you will be an essential part of ensuring the safety, security, and satisfaction of our residents and guests. Your primary responsibilities will include providing excellent customer service, monitoring building security, and assisting residents with various needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greeting and Customer Service: Warmly greet residents, guests, and visitors. Provide assistance with directions, information, and inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
• Building Security: Monitor entrances and exits to ensure building security. Check identification of visitors and maintain a secure environment by enforcing building policies.
• Package Management: Receive and log packages and deliveries. Notify residents of package arrivals and assist with distribution.
• Resident Assistance: Assist residents with carrying luggage, groceries, and other items as needed. Respond to residents' requests for information and assistance promptly.
• Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies in accordance with building procedures, including contacting emergency services when necessary.
• Building Maintenance Support: Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to the appropriate personnel. Assist with minor maintenance tasks as needed.
• Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with building management, maintenance staff, and other doormen to ensure smooth operation of building services.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience as a doorman, concierge, or in a customer service role is preferred.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Professionalism: Must be reliable, punctual, and present a professional appearance at all times.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for periods, lift packages, and assist with luggage and other heavy items.
• Union Membership: Must be a member of or willing to join the 32BJ SEIU union.
