Position Overview:
The Sutton High School Athletic Department is seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and
dedicated Varsity Girl's Soccer Head Coach to lead and build upon our highly
successful girls’ soccer program. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering
athletic excellence, teaching valuable skills, and promoting a positive and inclusive team
culture. The Head Coach will oversee the team’s development, manage coaching staff,
and work collaboratively with players, parents, and administration to create a successful
and positive experience for all involved.
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and implement training programs to improve team performance,
individual skills, and overall fitness.
● Lead and manage all aspects of the Varsity Girl's Soccer team, including
practices, games, and team events.
● Coach players in the fundamentals of soccer, strategy, and sportsmanship while
encouraging teamwork and character development.
● Organize and facilitate pre-season conditioning, practices, and team-building
activities.
● Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school staff about
schedules, expectations, and progress.
● Manage game day logistics, including preparation, and supervision.
● Monitor the academic progress of athletes and ensure a balance between
athletics and academics.
● Work closely with the athletic department to maintain soccer equipment and
fields.
● Uphold and enforce school, district, and league policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
● Prior coaching experience in soccer, preferably at the high school level (head
coaching experience is preferred).
● Knowledge of soccer techniques, strategies, and rules.
● Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
● Ability to inspire and motivate athletes to achieve their potential on and off the
field.
● CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before the start of the
season).
Compensation:
Per S.T.A. contracted stipend amount.
